VA Loans in Idaho

Idaho offers a property tax reduction for veterans with the most serious service-connected disabilities, separate from the state's general homeowner exemption. The federal VA loan benefit is the same in every state: eligible buyers can buy with no down payment and competitive rates.

Idaho benefits for veterans

Property tax relief for veterans

Idaho homeowners recognized by the VA with a service-connected disability rated at the highest level, or paid at that level due to individual unemployability, may qualify for a reduction in property taxes on their primary residence.

The home needs a current homeowner's exemption, and mobile homes can qualify. If your disability is permanent and total, the benefit can renew automatically; otherwise you apply each year.

How to apply: Apply through the county assessor or online through the Idaho State Tax Commission each spring.
